Staffordshire Commissioner Fire and Rescue Authority has issued its audited Statement of Accounts for the year ending 31 March 2020. The Statement of Accounts includes a narrative statement, a statement of responsibilities, the financial statements, and the annual governance statement.
The Accounts and Audit (Amendment) Regulations 2021 extend the statutory audit deadlines for 2020/21. The requirement for the public inspection period to include the first 10 working days of June has been removed, instead local authorities must commence the public inspection period on or before the first working day of August 2021. This means the draft accounts must be approved by the RFO (Responsible Finance Officer) and published by 31st July 2021 at the latest, however may be published earlier.
The Authority will publish the dates of its public inspection period as soon as the draft 2020/21 statement of accounts has been approved.
