Do you want to make a difference in your community? Staffordshire Fire & Rescue Service prides itself on the high standard of service it provides and every role has an important part to play in helping keep Staffordshire safe.
Our people are at the heart of our organisation, find out more about the benefits we offer. More information about the types of role available are listed below and current vacancies are listed on our recruitment website.
Our firefighters make up the majority of our workforce. Their role is varied, attending emergency incidents involving fires, road traffic collisions, water rescue, entrapments and more. Equally important is the prevention and protection work aiming to prevent fires before they happen by supporting and engaging with local communities and businesses.
On-call firefighters are members of the community who are paid to respond to emergencies. They do not staff the fire station 24 hours a day like full-time firefighters on the whole-time duty system.
Behind our firefighter crew is our talented team of support staff who provide the Service with a range of expertise and skills in professional, technical, planning and administrative support services.
Our apprenticeship framework consists of nationally recognised qualifications that combine work-based training and vocational education, offering a way of unblocking talent within existing staff and our local communities.
If you have some spare time and want to give something back to your local community we have a range of volunteer roles on offer.
