Reasonable adjustments

At Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service, we are dedicated to fostering an inclusive and supportive environment for all our staff and volunteers. If you require any additional support - whether during the application process or in your role - we encourage you to let us know.

We take a flexible, person-centred approach to reasonable adjustments, recognising that support needs can vary greatly, even among individuals with similar conditions.

By choosing to share a disability in your equality monitoring data, our Recruitment Team can contact you confidentially to explore how we can best support you. Examples of reasonable adjustments include:

  • Adjustments to the work environment
  • Assistive technology or ergonomic equipment
  • Information in accessible formats
  • Ground floor interview arrangements
  • Extra time or specialist software during assessments
  • One-to-one support or flexible working patterns

If you’ve received adjustments previously or have ideas about what support you might need, we encourage you to share them with us.

If you're unsure whether you’re eligible or feel uncertain about declaring a disability, we’re here to help. Please email the Recruitment Team on hrrecruitment.team@staffordshire.police.uk to start a confidential conversation.

Please be aware that in some cases, adjustment availability is role dependant.
