Vehicle fire at Bramshall Industrial Estate

Staffordshire Fire and Rescue service were called to reports of a vehicle fire at Bramshall Industrial Estate, near Uttoxeter at 11:04am on Wednesday 6 October.

Upon arrival, crews identified a mobile mechanic’s van well alight. Appliances from Longton and Stafford attended the scene with a water carrier from Cheadle also supporting.

The driver had removed two compressed gas cylinders from the vehicle prior to the arrival of crews and suffered smoke inhalation and burns. West Midlands Ambulance Service and an air ambulance also attended and the driver was taken to Royal Stoke Hospital by the air ambulance.

Two nearby businesses were evacuated as a precautionary measure whilst crews proceeded to cool the removed cylinders and extinguish the fire. Crews consulted with the environment agency and deployed equipment provided by them to contain fuel which had leaked from the damaged vehicle.
