Firefighter using hose

Residents are being urged to close their windows and doors while fire crews continue to dampen down at the scene of a barn fire in the Staffordshire Moorlands area.

Firefighters were called at 7.18pm on Thursday (30 June) to Apesford Lane in Bradnop, near Leek, following reports of a tractor in a shed on fire.

Crews from Leek, Ipstones, Longton, Cheadle attended the scene.

Upon arrival, crews found a large barn, measuring 30m by 30m, containing two tractors and a large amount of hay, involved in a fire.

Firefighters used two breathing apparatus and two hose reel jets to extinguish the fire.

No one was reported injured.

Crews revisited the scene today (Friday 1 July) and are currently dampening down any hot spots.

People living in the local area are being urged to keep their windows and doors closed while this work takes place.

We thank you for your understanding and cooperation at this time.
