Multiple crews in attendance at residential fire

Firefighters are currently in attendance at the scene of a fire in Burntwood. 

A call was received at 12.30pm reporting a fire at a residential property on Lawnswood Avenue.

Crews from Lichfield, Cannock, Burton-upon-Trent and appliances from West Midlands Fire Service remain the scene. 

All residents were evacuated upon the arrival of crews and no injuries have been reported. 

The fire was successfully extinguished using six breathing apparatus and four hose reel jets by 1.30pm.

An investigation into the cause is ongoing.

Station Manager Stuart Ruckledge, who attended the incident said: “I would like to commend the staff within the premises for their fast-thinking and efficient decision making which has significantly de-escalated the incident.

“Crews worked diligently to contain the fire and prevent it from spreading into the surrounding residential areas.”
