House fire started due to electrical fault

A house fire in Normacot started as a result of an electrical fault, fire investigators have confirmed. 

Fire fighters were called at 9.32am on Thursday (2 September) to Upper Belgrave Road.

Crews from Longton, Hanley and Newcastle attended and found fire in the first floor of a semi-detached house.

One female casualty was left in the care of the ambulance service and conveyed to hospital for further assessment.

Fire fighters used two breathing apparatus and one hose reel jet to extinguish the fire which was out by 11.35am.

An investigation into the cause of the fire was completed and today (Friday 3 September) confirmed it started as a result of an electrical fault.
