Flat fire caused deliberately

A fire that occurred at a block of flats in Meir was started deliberately.

Firefighters tackled a fire and rescued two people from inside a block of flats on Brookwood Drive, Meir on Wednesday (11 September).

Fortunately, all other residents were safely evacuated and accounted for.

Following a fire investigation, the cause of the fire has been deemed to be deliberate after it appears a flammable material came into contact with a naked flame.
