Firefighters to show support on National Car Wash Day

Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service are showing their support for the Fire Fighters Charity by taking part in activities as part of National Car Wash Day on 25 September.

Crews will be on hand at Penkridge Community Fire Station off Boscomoor Lane and at Brewood Fire Station on Bargate Lane from 10am-2pm to get cars gleaming bright.

The car washes will be carried out in aid of the Fire Fighters Charity with many firefighters opening station doors throughout the country and preparing to offer their services to get vehicles clean and looking their best.

Fire fighters from Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service will also be at the Riverside Shopping Centre in Stafford from 10am-3pm collecting donations for the charity.

Alex Fowler, Crew Manager at Penkridge Fire Community Station, said: “We are delighted to join so many other fire stations within the service getting involved and would urge local people to come along and support the day.

“Monies raised through national fundraising initiatives provide a real boost to the Fire Fighters Charity. Donations will go towards helping thousands of men, women and children from the fire and rescue community during their times of need.”
