Firefighters attend deliberate grassland fire
Firefighters have attended a deliberate grass fire in Tamworth.
The service was called at 2.40pm on Thursday (4 August) to Crowden Road, Stoneydelph, following reports of a grassland fire.
Crews from Cannock, Aldridge, Atherstone and Rugeley attended the scene.
Upon arrival, crews found a large area of grass, approximately 150 metres by 50 metres, well-alight.
Crews used two hose reel jets and tapped into a local hydrant for water supply, to tackle the fire.
No one was reported injured.
The fire was extinguished by around 4pm and crews left the area at 4.11pm.
An investigation determined the fire was started deliberately.
Staffordshire Police has been informed.
Inquiries are continuing.
