Fire crews have tackled a house fire in Stoke-on-Trent.

Firefighters were called to a property off London Road, just after 6.50pm on Wednesday (27 July).

Crews from Hanley, Longton, Newcastle and Sandyford attended as did paramedics from West Midlands Ambulance Service and Staffordshire Police.

Six breathing apparatus and two hose reels were used to extinguish the fire.

All persons were accounted for and no one was injured.

Police assisted with the evacuation of nearby residents as a precautionary measure.

They have all since returned to their homes.

Fire crews left the scene shortly after 11.35pm.

A joint investigation between Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service and Staffordshire Police looking into the cause of the fire is ongoing.
