Fire crews successfully moo-ve stuck cow

Fire crews have successfully rescued a cow who was stuck in a river.

Firefighters were called to a premises off the A53, Endon, just before 10.10am on Thursday (11 August) following reports of an animal in distress.

Crews from Hanley, Leek and Tamworth, Animal Rescue, from Cannock, and the Water Rescue Unit, from Newcastle and Tamworth, attended the scene.

Crews successfully managed to bring the cow to safety at 12.50pm.

The cow was left in the care of its owner.

Crews departed the scene just after 1.55pm.
