Fire crews extinguish deliberate car fire

We have extinguished a car fire we believe was started deliberately in Stoke-on-Trent yesterday (Monday 24 October).

Firefighters were called to Bank Street, Kidsgrove, just before 7.45pm on Monday.

A crew from Sandyford attended as did Highways and colleagues from Staffordshire Police.

On arrival, the crew found a black Nissan Qashqai on fire.

The fire was extinguished using one breathing apparatus and one hose reel jet.

Following an investigation, the fire was deemed to have been started deliberately.

No one was reported injured.

The fire crew left the scene shortly after 10pm.

The incident has been left with Staffordshire Police.

Inquiries are continuing.
