Fire crews attend barn fire

Firefighters remain at the scene of a premises on Manor Lane, Newton, near Abbots Bromley, following reports of a barn on fire.

Crews were called just before 12.40pm this afternoon (Friday 7 October).

Crews from Cannock Chase Terrace, Penkridge and Stafford remain at the scene.

On arrival, crews found a single barn, containing 800 bales of hay, on fire.

Five pumps and a water carrier are being used to extinguish the fire. Hydro shields are also being used to contain the fire and protect the area.

Inquiries are ongoing.
