Crews tackle fire at disused pub

Firefighters are currently tackling a blaze at a disused pub in Stoke-on-Trent. 

The fire service was called at 3.13pm on Tuesday (2 August) to the building, on Warren Street, in Longton. 

A total of three crews from Longton, including the aerial ladder platform and a crew from Burslem attended the scene. 

Upon arrival, firefighters discovered a severe fire which had spread through the roof. 

Crews are using two main jets and two hose reel jets to tackle the blaze.
 
No one has been reported injured. 

Two crews from Longton and the Burslem crew remain at the scene and are making good progress. 

Officers from Staffordshire Police are also in attendance to assist with road closures, with Warren Street currently closed in both directions. 

Drivers are urged to avoid the area.
