Crews attend flat fire in Stafford

Firefighters were called to a residential address near Whitemill Lane in Stone, Stafford, at 9.30pm on Thursday (19 May), following reports of a low-rise flat fire.

Crews from Longton, Stone and Stafford attended the scene alongside officers from Staffordshire Police and evacuated occupants of the building.

Four breathing apparatus, two hose reel jets and a main jet was used to tackle the blaze, which was extinguished by 12am (Friday 20 May).

At least 75% of the flat was affected by the fire, although no-one was reported injured.

Gas and electric supply to the affected areas were isolated.

An investigation alongside Staffordshire Police is currently underway.
