We are recruiting new on-call firefighters

Fire engine leaving Gnosall Fire Station

If you live in or around the Gnosall area and have previously considered a career in the fire service – we may have the perfect opportunity for you.

We are currently recruiting on-call fire firefighters to join our team at Gnosall Fire Station, on Wharf Road, and make a difference in the community.

The role of an on-call firefighter is exactly the same as that of a full-time firefighter but they only respond when there’s an emergency. This means that the role is flexible and can work around other commitments such as full-time work and family.

On-call firefighters receive the same training as full-time firefighters and go through the same rigorous training process, which involves a number of different aspects such as working at heights, breathing apparatus, road traffic collisions and first aid.

Anyone over the age of 18 who lives within a 5-minute radius of a station and can respond to emergencies can apply to become an on-call firefighter, and all applicants will go through the same recruitment and training process.

Gnosall Station Manager, Liam Hickey, said: “We are currently looking for new on-call firefighters to join our team in Gnosall.

“While the role is unpredictable, it’s exciting, rewarding and perfect for anyone who wants to become a firefighter, work in the fire service in general and earn extra income.

“I would encourage anyone lives close to the station, has a positive attitude and wants to make a difference in the community to apply.”
