Local fire station to host family event this weekend

Our fun-filled family open day at Tutbury Community Fire Station will take place this weekend.
The station, which has recently celebrated it’s 60th anniversary, will open its doors to the local community between 11am and 4pm on Saturday (19 July).
There will be plenty going on for all the family including inflatables, water games, face painting, an ice cream van and football activities with Burton Albion Community Trust.
There will also be opportunities for visitors to chat with the people keeping you safe everyday and partner organisations to learn more about how we deliver community safety across Tutbury.
Station Manager, Andrew Bourne, said: “We are looking forward to welcoming the community to our fire station on Saturday.
“Lots of hard work has gone into organising the event and I hope there will be something for everyone.
“I would just like to remind people that there is no parking at the station, but free spaces are available at Duke Street, Cornmill Lane or the Vine Inn, which are only a few minutes’ walk away.”
