There is only just over two weeks to go ahead of a fun-filled open day at Sandyford Community Fire Station.

The station, on Marlborough Way, Sandyford, Stoke-on-Trent, will be opening its doors to the local community between 10am and 4pm on Saturday 13 September. Between 10am and 11am there will be a sensory hour, with no loud sirens or flashing lights.

There are activities planned for the whole family, including live demonstrations, fairground rides and refreshment stalls. Representatives from Stoke City and Port Vale football clubs will also be in attendance.

There will also be opportunities for visitors to chat with the people keeping you safe everyday and partner organisations to learn more about how we deliver community safety across Stoke-on-Trent.

Fire crews and staff will also be on hand to discuss our various recruitment opportunities with visitors.

Acting Station Manager, Danielle Coleman, said: “We are looking forward to welcoming the local community to the station next month and we have been working hard to ensure the event has something for everyone.

“I would just like to remind people that there is no parking available at the station, but there is free parking at Churchill Pottery which is close to the station.”
