Firefighters tackle large car fire

Firefighters have extinguished a fire involving an electric car in Tamworth.

Crews were called at 11.05am yesterday (Thursday 15 January), to Clifton Lane following reports of a fire.

Three appliances attended the scene and found an electric Mercedes well alight.

The fire was extinguished using a hose reel jet and nobody was reported injured.

The cause of the fire was deemed to be accidental.

Recovery was arranged for the vehicle and crews left the scene at 1pm.
