Firefighters rescue horse trapped in fence

Firefighters successfully rescued a horse which was trapped in a fence in Longnor.

Crews were called at 2.40pm on Sunday (4 January) to land off Leek Road following reports of a horse trapped in a fence and an icy and muddy bog.

The horse was sedated by a vet whilst crews worked to rescue the horse from the fence. The horse was then safely lifted out of the bog.

The horse was left in the care of the vet and crews left at 7.10pm.
