Firefighters extinguish fire inside block of flats

Firefighters have extinguished a small fire inside a block of flats in Stafford this morning (Wednesday 22 October).

We were called at 4.25am to Milton Grove following reports of a fire.

Seven appliances attended the scene alongside colleagues from Staffordshire Police and West Midlands Ambulance Service.

A woman in her 40s had left the building prior to our arrival. She was taken to hospital with injuries.

A small fire was extinguished on the sixth floor of the building.

An investigation into the cause of the fire is underway.
