Firefighters extinguish business fire in Lichfield

Firefighters have extinguished a fire inside a business in Lichfield.

We were called to a premises off Common Lane, Fradley, at 4am today (Thursday 3 July) following reports of smoke coming from the building.

Three appliances attended the scene alongside colleagues from West Midlands Ambulance Service.

Five people were taken to hospital for treatment for smoke inhalation.

The fire was contained by a sprinkler system and we used breathing apparatus and a hose reel jet to fully extinguish a fire inside an industrial oven.

The fire was deemed to have been caused accidentally, by an electrical fault.

Crews left the scene at around 7.15am.
