Fire crews tackle fire inside derelict building

Firefighters have tackled a large fire inside a derelict building in Stoke-on-Trent.
We were called at 9.05pm yesterday (Monday 1 September) to Old Town Road, Hanley, following reports of smoke coming from the area.
Three appliances and our aerial ladder platform (ALP) attended the scene and found a derelict building well alight.
Crews used a main jet, hose reel jet and the ALP to extinguish the fire and nobody was reported injured.
An investigation into the cause of the fire will take place in due course.
