Fire crews tackle derelict building fire

Firefighters tackled a fire inside a derelict building in Stoke-on-Trent on Saturday (15 November).

Crews were called at 3pm to Market Street, Longton, following reports of smoke coming from a derelict building.

Two fire engines attended the scene and found a small fire on the ground floor.

The fire was extinguished using a hose reel jet and nobody was reported injured.

An investigation into the cause of the fire will take place in due course.
