Firefighters have extinguished a large trailer fire in Lichfield.

At around 9.45pm on Monday (9 February), crews were called to Common Lane following reports of a vehicle fire.

Four appliances attended the scene and found a double-decker trailer well alight. It was not attached to the HGV cab.

Colleagues from Staffordshire Police attended the scene to assist with traffic management whilst crews used a main jet and a hose reel jet to extinguish the fire.

Nobody was reported injured.

Crews remained at the scene overnight to dampen down any hotspots, before leaving at around 5am yesterday (Tuesday 10 February).

The fire was deemed to have been caused accidentally.
