Fire crews extinguish large scrapyard fire

Firefighters have extinguished a large fire at a scrapyard in Stoke-on-Trent.

We were called at 7.45pm yesterday (Thursday 24 July) to a business on Elder Road, Cobridge.

Six appliances attended the scene and found two garages and a number of vehicles well alight.

Crews used breathing apparatus and our aerial ladder platform (ALP) to extinguish the fire.

Thankfully, nobody was reported injured.

An investigation into the cause of the fire will take place in due course.
