Fire crews extinguish house fire in Lichfield

Firefighters have extinguished a grass fire that spread to properties in Lichfield.

We were called just after 5pm on Monday (19 May) to Dovehouse Fields following reports of a house fire.

Three crews attended, which was then reduced to two crews.

Firefighters found an exterior fire had spread to the kitchen of a property and an adjoining property.

All residents of the affected homes were evacuated and nobody was reported injured.

Breathing apparatus and hose reel jets were used to extinguish the fire.

The fire was later deemed to have been caused deliberately and the incident was left with colleagues from Staffordshire Police.
