Crews tackle large barn fire

Firefighters have extinguished a large barn fire in Biddulph.

Crews were called just after 2am today (Wednesday 14 January) to a farm off Greenway Bank following reports of a fire.

Three appliances attended the scene and found a large barn containing tractors, straw and hay well alight.

Crews used hose reel jets and foam to extinguish the fire and moved hay bales away from the location to allow them to burn safely.

Nobody was reported injured.

An investigation into the cause of the fire will take place in due course.
