Crews tackle fire inside derelict building

Crews have extinguished a fire inside a derelict building in Stoke-on-Trent.

We were called at 4.45pm yesterday (Thursday 26 March) to Westport Road, Burslem, following reports of smoke coming from a derelict building.

Three appliances attended the scene and used a hose reel jet to extinguish the fire.

Nobody was reported injured.

The cause of the fire was deemed to be deliberate, and the incident has been left with colleagues from Staffordshire Police and the local council.

Crews left the scene at around 8.15pm.
