Crews remain at scene of fire as demolition work continues

We are still the scene of a large fire on Mill Street, Leek, today (Monday 30 March) as demolition work continues.

Mill Street will stay closed until demolition work is complete and the area is made safe.

Good progress is being made by demolition crews.

The gas supply was safely isolated yesterday, but we're still asking people to call the Emergency Gas Line if they notice a strong smell of gas. Call 0800 111 999 immediately.

One crew remains at the scene as a precaution.
