Crews extinguish large vehicle fire

Firefighters have extinguished a fire involving a forklift truck in Uttoxeter.

Crews were called just after 7.30am today (Friday 13 March) to Pigeonhay Lane, Beamhurst, following reports of an electric forklift truck well alight.

Two crews attended the scene and used a hose reel jet to extinguish the fire.

Crews also removed the battery from the vehicle which was dampened down before being submerged in sand and water.

Nobody was reported injured.

The cause of the fire was deemed to be accidental and crews left the scene at 10.10am.
