Crews extinguish fire inside derelict building in Stafford

Firefighters have extinguished a fire inside a derelict building in Stafford.

Crews were called at 12.10pm yesterday (Sunday 22 March) to Church Lane, Sandon, following reports of a large amount of smoke coming from the area.

Three appliances attended the scene and used two hose reel jets to extinguish a derelict building which was well alight.

Roof tiles were also removed to allow crews to dampen down hotspots.

Nobody was reported injured.

The fire was deemed to have been caused accidentally and crews left the scene at 8.30pm.
