Stafford fire station gears up to host fun-filled open day

We are hosting a fun-filled family open day at Stafford Fire Station.
Your local firefighters will be there, on Beaconside, from 10am till 4pm next Saturday (10 May), where you and all of the family will get the chance to meet the people keeping you safe every day.
There will be something for all ages, from live safety demos to a penalty shoot-out, inflatables and fairground rides. Between 10am and 11am will be a sensory hour, with no loud noises or bright lights.
The event is completely free to attend but any money raised on the day will be donated to the Fire Fighters Charity, who we have raised over £50,000 for in the past year as part of our 50th anniversary celebrations.
For those considering a career with us, there will also be a stand where firefighters will be on hand to talk to people about the opportunities available, including on-call.
Station Manager, Tim Hollingworth, said: “We are really looking forward to welcoming the community to this family friendly, fun-filled event.
“There will be opportunities to chat with our firefighters and partner organisations to learn more about how we deliver community safety across Stafford.
“We would just like to remind people that we have no on-site parking so if you are travelling by car please park in a safe and considerate manner.
“We can’t wait to see you all there!”
