Reminder to ensure electrical appliances are in safe working order after tumble drier fire in Bramshall

Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service is reminding people to ensure their electrical appliances are in safe working order after a tumble dryer caught fire in Bramshall, near Uttoxeter.

We were called to Leigh Lane at about 5.35am today (Monday 24 May) to a blaze at a property.

A crew from Stafford attended. The fire was extinguished and the tumble dryer removed from the property.

It is so important that you don’t overload or over-use appliances, however old they are.

Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson

A spokesman for Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service, who has previously attended fires caused by such appliances, said: “It is so important that you don’t overload or over-use appliances, however old they are.

“They also must never be left to work while you’re out or left on overnight in order to make sure you’re protecting yourselves and your loved ones from a potentially serious fire.”
