Lorry fire extinguished by crews

Service vehicles lined up outside appliance bay

We extinguished a lorry fire yesterday evening (Monday 4 December) on the M6.

Crews from Cannock, Longton and Newcastle went to M6 southbound between junctions 14 and 15 just before 8pm.

Our colleagues from Staffordshire Police and National Highways also went to the scene.

The fire was extinguished just after 9pm and was deemed to be accidental as a result of an overheated tyre.

No one was injured.
