Crews have extinguished a wildfire measuring approximately 100 metres by 100 metres in Rough Close.

We were called at 8.40pm on Wednesday (29 April) to Cocknage Road following reports of a fire.

Six appliances attended the scene and found a large area of shrubland well alight.

The fire was extinguished using hose reel jets, a wildfire hose, beaters and backpacks and nobody was reported injured.

Crews remained at the scene overnight to dampen down hotspots before leaving at 7.30am yesterday (Thursday 30 April).
