Large derelict building fire extinguished in Burslem

Firefighters have worked to extinguish a large fire involving a derelict building in Stoke-on-Trent.

We were called at 2.40pm on Friday (2 October) to Newcastle Street in Burslem following reports of a fire.

Four appliances and an aerial ladder platform attended the scene and found a two-storey building well alight.

Crews used main jets and hose reel jets to extinguish the fire and thankfully nobody was reported injured.

Crews have remained at the scene over the weekend to reinspect the building.

The incident has been left with Staffordshire Police.
