Girl rescued following collision

Firefighters have helped rescue a girl trapped underneath a van following a collision in Newcastle-under-Lyme.

We were called to Church Street just after 8.15am on Tuesday (10 December).

Crews from Hanley and Newcastle attended as did Staffordshire Police and our colleagues at West Midlands Ambulance Service.

On arrival, crews found a 15-year-old girl and a white Ford Transit van involved in a collision.

The girl was also found underneath the vehicle.

Crews used two sets of air bags to lift the vehicle and release the girl.

The 15-year-old girl was released and treated at the scene by paramedics before being taken to hospital for treatment.

Crews left the scene just after 9am.

The incident has now been left with police.
