Firefighters tackle wildfire involving allotments

Firefighters have extinguished a wildfire involving numerous allotments in Stoke-on-Trent.

We were called at 2.30pm yesterday (Thursday 16 July) to Hanley Road in Sneyd Green following reports of a fire.

Three appliances attended the scene and found a number of allotments well alight. The fire had also spread to nearby trees, hedges and fences.

The fire was extinguished using two extended hose reel jets and two main jets.

Thankfully nobody was reported injured.

An investigation into the cause of the fire will take place in due course.
