Firefighters remove trapped driver from van following collision

Firefighters have removed a man trapped in a van which was involved in a serious collision in Cannock yesterday (Thursday 21 April).

Crews were called to Five Ways Island, Burntwood, at the junction Norton Road, Cannock, at around 10.30am on Thursday following reports of a three-vehicle collision.

Crews from Cannock attended as did paramedics, the air ambulance, Highways and Staffordshire Police.

On arrival, crews found a white Isuzu Grafter, a white Ford Transit and a blue Volkswagen Transporter involved in a collision.

A man, the driver of the Ford Transit, was removed from the vehicle by fire crews and taken to hospital by air ambulance.

The two occupants of the blue Volkswagen were taken to hospital by land ambulance.  

The driver of the white Isuzu sustained minor injuries and did not require hospital treatment.

Fire crews worked with Highways to clear debris and make the area safe before leaving the scene shortly before 3pm. 

The incident has been left in the care of Staffordshire Police.
