Firefighters receive outstanding service awards

Six firefighters celebrated two decades in the service last Monday (28 March) after receiving honorary awards at a ceremony.

Lord Lieutenant Ian Dudson presented medals and certificates, alongside Staffordshire Police and Fire & Rescue Service Commissioner (PFCC) Ben Adams, to a host of operational and support staff at the service’s headquarters in Pirehill.

A total of eight operational firefighters received Good Conduct Medals and six received Fire Brigade Long Service Medals after completing 20 years in the service.

A further three members of support staff were also honoured with a certificate – celebrating their valued contribution to the service.

Chief Fire Officer, Rob Barber, said: “Those who received their awards have been celebrated for their fantastic conduct, loyalty and devotion to duty, which we are immensely proud of”.

Ben Adams, Staffordshire PFCC, said: “This occasion gives me great pleasure in celebrating loyal service to Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service.

“It is an opportunity to recognise the dedication and commitment to protecting the communities of Staffordshire.

“Recipients of these awards should be justifiably proud of this achievement”.
