Firefighters extinguish fire in outbuilding at derelict building

We have extinguished a fire in an outbuilding of a derelict property in Stoke-on-Trent during the early hours of this morning (Tuesday 2 April).

Crews went to Bryan Street, Hanley, just after 5am and found a derelict building well-alight.

A hose reel jet was used to extinguish the fire by 7.30am and no one was injured.

Fire investigators later deemed the fire to be cause deliberately.

The incident is now with Staffordshire Police.
