Firefighters extinguish blaze involving 200 tyres

Firefighters have extinguished a fire which involved a large amount of tyres in Knypersley.

We were called at 10.25am yesterday (Wednesday 27 May) to Mill Hayes Road following reports of a fire.

Three appliances and a water carrier attended the scene and found around 200 tyres well alight.

The fire was extinguished using one main jet and specialist firefighting foam. Thankfully, nobody was reported injured.

The cause was deemed to be accidental, and crews left the scene at around 6pm.
