Firefighters extinguish blaze in detached garage

Firefighters have extinguished a fire inside a detached garage in Stoke-on-Trent.

Two crews from Hanley and one crew from Longton were sent to Leek Road at 2.40am yesterday morning (21 December) following reports of a fire.

They used a hose reel jet and breathing apparatus to contain the blaze and extinguished the fire shortly after 3am.

Crews were able to prevent further damage to neighbouring properties through their swift action. We made sure the area was safe before leaving the scene at 4am.

Our colleagues from Staffordshire Police are now investigating what happened.
