Fire inside derelict building tackled

Firefighters have extinguished a fire inside a derelict building in Stoke-on-Trent.

We were called at 9.20am on Sunday (26 July) to Stoke Road in Shelton following reports of a fire.

Three appliances and our aerial ladder platform (ALP) attended the scene and found a fire on the third floor.

Crews used a hose reel jet to extinguish the fire before thoroughly searching the building. Nobody was reported injured.

The cause of the fire was deemed to be deliberate and crews left the scene at 4.45pm.
