Fire crew extinguish car fire at car wash

We have extinguished a car fire at a car wash which was started deliberately in Tamworth.

A crew from Tamworth Mercia were sent to on Marmion Street just before 4am today (23 June) and found a black Mercedes well-alight.

Firefighters used breathing apparatus and hose reel jets to extinguish the flames by 6am.

After making the area safe, the cause was later deemed to be deliberate.

The incident has been left with colleagues from Staffordshire Police.
