Factory fire in Cannock extinguished
Crews have tackled a fire at a factory in Cannock.
We were called at 5.20pm on Monday (19 October) to a business on Fairway, Bridgtown, following reports of smoke coming from a building.
Three appliances attended the scene and crews forced entry to the building.
A small fire was extinguished using a hose reel jet and the building was ventilated.
Thankfully, nobody was reported injured.
Station Manager Russ Brown attended the scene. He said: “Although the business was closed when this fire started, accidental fires can happen at any time. That’s why it’s important that businesses regularly inspect fire doors and have a suitable fire risk assessment.
“Waste and clutter should be cleared frequently, as combustible materials like paper, cardboard and wood can easily accumulate and provide ample fuel for fires to spread.”
