Factory fire extinguished

Firefighters have extinguished a fire inside a factory in Tamworth.

We were called at 12.20pm yesterday (Tuesday 8 September) to Tame Valley Industrial Estate following reports of a fire.

Five appliances attended the scene and found a plasma cutter well alight.  

The building was evacuated and thankfully nobody was reported injured.

The fire was extinguished using an extended hose reel jet and the building was ventilated.

An investigation into the cause of the fire will take place in due course.
