Crews tackle Stoke-on-Trent wildfire

Firefighters have extinguished a wildfire in Stoke-on-Trent.

We were called just before 5pm yesterday (Sunday 23 August) to Chatterley Whitfield Nature Reserve following reports of a fire.

Four appliances attended the scene and found a fire measuring approximately 500 metres by 100 metres.

The fire was extinguished using main jets, backpacks and beaters and thankfully nobody was reported injured.

The cause of the fire was deemed to be deliberate, and the incident has been left with colleagues from Staffordshire Police.
